Primitive Reflexes

Primitive reflexes.

While some might think that the reappearance of primitive reflexes is an assured sign of structural neurologic damage, in P-DTR, the ability to make sense of the reemergence of these reflexes is one of our most valuable tools.

Two weeks ago a client of mine brought her son in asking if there was anything to be done about his ADD and poor attention span in school.

After taking him through the P-DTR assessment, we discovered that he tested positive for a reappearance of palmar grasp, plantar grasp, and spinal galant reflexes.

Using the protocol we quickly located the source of these primitive patterns and corrected them.

The mother followed up with me earlier this week to say that the teacher had sent her an email about how great her son's behavior had been the past week and that his handwriting and quiz scores had markedly improved.

All of this from fifteen minutes of assessment and treatment.

It's cases like these that just make all of the training and studying completely worth it.
