Swallowing Pills
Understanding how to assess cranial nerves is of paramount importance when working with clients who have experienced concussions, migraines, dental work, and cervical procedures, not to mention hyper or hypo sensitivity to various senses such as smell, light, and sound.
Today in the P-DTR Amsterdam Advanced class, students learned how to evaluate the Glossopharyngeal and Vagus nerves for dysfunction.
While these nerves perform a number of essential functions, they have been particularly notable for me in clinic when working with children who have difficulty swallowing pills, feeding problems, or an exaggerated gag reflex. So many cranial nerve dysfunctions can be life altering.
Avoiding social gatherings because of hypersensitivity to sound?
Feel like you get blinded by the sun or fluorescent lights?
Suffering from double vision?
Dizziness?
These are all conditions within the realm of the incredible knowledge you’ll learn to address throughout your P-DTR education.
